Hello!
My name is Alaina Sayre, and I am a third year at Ohio University studying journalism with a specialization in the recording industry. I am a sentimentalist at heart and I often take inspiration from my own life and experiences for my writing.
I am so excited to share these stories with you all!
Mission
Saturn’s Awakening is a literary magazine that highlights stories from the beginning to end of a person’s lifetime. Named after the Greek God, Saturn represents the slow but steady passage of life, which is what we hope to actualize in our stories and poems. We aim to create a space for creative, diverse voices to cultivate a larger picture of our collective lives and time changing, while creating a community for all people. We highlight fiction, non-fiction, and prose writers telling stories of adolescence into maturity.
Vision
If there is one thing every person on earth has in common, it is the cycle of life and death. We are all put here to learn, develop, and change. We all make mistakes and grow from them. We all fall in love and have our hearts broken. We all experience milestones, no matter how small or big, and we all find community knowing that we are not alone. In this magazine, I'd like to make it shown that we are all going through this for the first time. Through stories centering around time passing and growing into maturity, I hope to build a community of people all learning and growing together.
